Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Scholarship

The California Northstate University College of Health Sciences (CNUCHS) BSN Scholarship celebrates the achievements of students who contribute significantly to the BSN program through academic excellence and involvement in the campus community.

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible students must have applied to and been accepted into the CNUCHS Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 from high school or a previous college is required. The scholarship is only open to domestic students residing in the United States.

Application Requirements:

Students are considered for the CNUCHS BSN Scholarship when they submit the standard application for admission to the CNUCHS BSN program. There are no additional application materials required for the scholarship consideration. Applicants are encouraged to submit their complete BSN application as early as possible.

Selection Criteria:

The CNUCHS Scholarship Committee evaluates candidates based on their past academic performance and the depth of understanding of the nursing profession demonstrated in their complete BSN application. The Admissions committee may use personal statements, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation to determine the applicant’s commitment to academic and personal success, community involvement, and social accountability.

Award Information:

The scholarship provides an award of $18,000 per year, which is given as a tuition credit divided equally among the three academic terms. Recipients should note that this scholarship cannot be combined with the Admissions Merit Scholarship or the President’s Diversity Excellence Scholarship.

Scholarship Renewal Criteria:

The CNUCHS Nursing Scholarship is awarded annually and is renewable based on the student maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Students must also maintain full-time enrollment status, with at least 12 credits per term, and must be in good academic and conduct standing. Additionally, they are required to make satisfactory progress toward degree completion and meet regularly with the BSN Scholarship advisor.
