Pre-Medical Post-Baccalaureate (PMPB)

Purpose

The Pre-Medical Post-Baccalaureate (PMPB) coursework at California Northstate University College of Health Sciences is a one-year course of study suitable for students interested in gaining admission to professional health related programs such as medical, dental (pending BPPE and WSCUC approval), psychology, or pharmacy school at CNU or a professional health related program at a different university.

Please note: In order to be admitted into the CNUCHS Post-Baccalaureate coursework, the applicant must show proof of having earned a bachelor's degree and meet coursework prerequisites before enrolling in the college. The degree should be issued by any regionally accredited institution of higher education in the United States.

Application

This application form must be fully completed and the non-refundable $100 application fee paid before applicants will be considered for admission. Comprehensive application review will occur on a rolling basis when all supporting documents have been received. The earlier the application and supporting documents are received, the earlier the applicant will be notified of the admission decision.

A complete application packet includes the following items:

  • Personal Statement (250 to 500 words) describing your future aspirations and goals highlighting how the PMPB might help you achieve them. We recommend you read the prompt for the Personal Statement, prepare your response in a separate file, and copy your response into the space provided.
  • A PDF of your 1 to 2 page resume that you will upload as an attachment at the end of your application.
  • An Excel spreadsheet where you have entered your prerequisite coursework and calculated your Biology/Chemistry/Physics/Math (BCPM) GPA. Link BCPM-GPA-Calculation. You will upload the BCPM GPA calculation spreadsheet as an attachment at the end of your application. You must use the link provided to complete the BCPM GPA calculation, please do not change the format of this excel sheet. As you begin to fill out the BCPM GPA calculation spreadsheet, please refer to the example provided in the first two lines of the BCPM spreadsheet, make sure you pay close attention to the categories provided and list completed courses under the appropriate header. If you have taken additional science courses, be sure to add the courses to the BCPM spreadsheet. If the BCPM GPA calculation is filled out incorrectly, your application cannot be reviewed, therefore, causing a delay in an admissions decision.
  • Unofficial transcripts are accepted for application review purposes only, please upload transcripts from ALL colleges/universities you have attended to complete the application process. Admitted students who return an enrollment agreement will be required to provide official transcripts before beginning the PMPB coursework. If you have completed a professional health program report, e.g. AMCAS or PharmCAS, please upload the report as an attachment at the end of your application, in this case you will not need to provide official transcripts.
  • Transcripts may be sent electronically or mailed. If mailed, send to:
