About

Stephanie attended San Joaquin Delta College receiving 3 associates in arts degrees before transferring to California State University, Stanislaus where she earned her BS in Chemistry. While attending SJDC, she was part of two clubs: Latino Medical Student Association and American Chemical Society. In the Latino Medical Student Association, she worked with others to help clean and organize free clinics in Stockton, CA. The American Chemical Society club at SJDC helped students gain interest in other careers involved in chemistry and participating in outreach events to local high schools and elementary schools to perform “Magic Shows” involving chemistry experiments. She transferred to California State University, Stanislaus to further pursue her education in Chemistry where her passion only grew stronger. She published a paper her final year at CSU Stanislaus in the Stanislaus Journal of Biochemical Reviews titled, “An In-Depth Investigation of DMDM Hydantoin as a Preservative in Commercial Hair Products” with her academic advisors help, Dr. Koni Stone. While attending CSU Stanislaus, she worked as a Chemistry Stockroom Assistant in the chemistry department where she fell in love with organizing and preparing labs.
