Dr. Linda Hargreaves, DNP, RN, CNS, CNE, is a nationally certified nurse educator, Director of the Nursing Simulation Center at California Northstate University, and College of Health Science Faculty. She brings extensive experience in BSN nursing clinical education, simulation-based learning, and academic leadership.
Dr. Hargreaves’ research and professional passions center on trauma-based nursing, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and communication science. Her work examines the impact of ACEs on children and across the lifespan, with a focus on evidence-based interventions that mitigate long-term trauma and promote resilience at all ages. Dr. Hargreaves advances trauma-based nursing practice through rapid assessment and holistic care for individuals affected by physical injury, psychological trauma, and chronic stress, intentionally integrating trauma-informed principles to support neurodivergent individuals, those with ACE histories, and people living with PTSD. She further emphasizes the role of structured communication and teamwork, utilizing standardized tools such as TeamSTEPPS to enhance patient safety, collaboration, and outcomes. She prioritizes interdisciplinary collaboration and communication.
